Dr. Emily’s journey towards dentistry began with a personal experience; her childhood orthodontist transformed her smile by straightening her buck teeth, which profoundly boosted her confidence. Inspired by this positive change, she pursued a career in dentistry.
Dr. Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery, both from the University of Melbourne. She dedicated her research to healthy lifestyle behaviours in children, completing her thesis at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
Passionate about making a difference in children’s lives, Dr. Emily has volunteered with various children’s organisations over the years. One of her most impactful experiences was joining a team of 20 volunteers in St. Lucia, South Africa, where they delivered play equipment, water storage solutions, vegetable gardens, and a crèche for the local Zulu children. She has also volunteered as a Teddy Dentist at the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne, where she used creativity and imagination to introduce young children to positive healthcare experiences.
